SUMMARY: Today we continued to identify similes, metaphors and idioms from the different texts we've read. Then we compared figurative language using a graphic organizer to help us write a compare and contrast essay.

SUMMARY: Today I handed back the grammar quiz and homework package. We reviewed the common mistakes, especially decoding words through your understanding of roots and prefixes. Then you had the rest of class to complete your C&C essay from yesterday. Anyone who finished the essay got an iPad to review figurative language on Freckle.
